A handibus cannot exist on good intentions alone. Wages, fuel and repairs are just some of the costs of making transportation happen. Unlike Calgary or Edmonton, Rocky View Regional Handibus operates an area four times the size of Calgary with only 17%of our expense covered by municipal funding
Rocky View Regional Handibus has accessed the services of another charitable organization to make donations simpler. Canadahelps.org, a group of webheads, have created an on-line donation system on for the benefit of Canadian charities. CanadaHelpsimmediately emails you a CRA tax receipt, processes your credit card transaction or interact transaction and transfers the funds to our bank account.
As a charitable organization, Canadahelps.org has been able to provide this service for almost free. Your donation goes directly to us, minus the 3% transaction fee charged by MasterCard for processing.

What will we use the money for?
When you donate on-line to Rocky View Regional Handibus, you can direct your donation into one of four program areas:
- Capital: equipment acquisition (new bus)
- Preschool: special-needs preschooler transportation program
- Community: Community Transportation in rural areas
General: daily operations
Will 100% of you donation go directly to the program?
We'd love to have a fund-development program funded from an external source that would let us flow 100% of donations to the intended program.
But we don't.
Presently we can promise that 90-95% of your donation will go to its intended program (We would like to point out that most of our fund-raising efforts are done outside of staff time).
